Amivectio Takes Fashion Serious
Posted on June 4, 2009
Hector Estrada was thinking about the environment before it was trendy. In 2001, the Puerto Rican-born designer created his Triko clothing line to fulfill the need for clothing that encouraged a fashion revolution. Humbled by his travels to India, Ecuador, and Hong Kong, Estrada is back with a new line called Amivectio that uses his original recipe: support socially- and politically-conscious movements fighting for the right to clean water, air, soil, and energy, health, education, sustainability, peace, and progress. In the fashion world, this mission is nearly impossible. Chicana Style shot the Styleyes veterano some questions to see how he stays afloat in the biz. DOB: Before cell phones "Our design philosophy and goal is to define Modern Americana while reinterpreting classic fashion with innovation and functionality. Guided by principles of quality, beauty, rhythm, balance, comfort, and inspiration." —Hector Estrada Are your creations politically-inspired? Some are politically inspired, but all are politically influenced.
