Dear friends,

I just wanted to tell you the story of what my song, 'all the stars' is about (the lyrics are toward the bottom) & little about the process of a release. Putting out this song was about one years work.

Ms. Universe, the mother of all beauty pageants, airs this Sunday (8/23). And all I can think of is how our ladies of Model Latina Miami would diversify it. The facts are as blatant as R. Kelly’s recent love affair with the press—Latin American countries tend to send European-looking models to compete in Ms. Universe. Yes, Latinos do have European blood, pero as you and I know we also have indigenous and African roots. Why send an Incan princess to represent Ecuador instead of a traditional Barbie doll?

Arrogance isn’t a trait Hernan Hernandez Jr. possesses. Even though his stage name is Mexia aka Mexican Messiah (I suggested Jesús tha MC), he’s extremely humble. You wouldn’t be surprised if the San Jose-native were arrogant; he’d have every right to be. As an MC he’s got all the tools to succeed—the mic skills, the skateboarder look and the marketing. Plus, he’s a legacy in this music biz. His dad is Hernan Hernandez from Los Tigres del Norte.

Model Latina Miami is sizzling! If you haven’t seen the top 15 ladies yet, take a gander here. Yes, they’re beautiful but they also have good, ahem, melons atop their shoulders. For example, look at Zuleyka—the half boricua, half brasilera bombshell. She’s already starring in music videos for B-Real (“Fire”) and Pitbull (“Blanco”).

Since announcing his second “Peace without Borders” concert, which will take place in Cuba on 9/20, Juanes is getting attacked as if someone caught him on To Catch a Predator. All he wants to do is bring his award-winning and thought provoking music to an island stripped of many basic needs. The Miami Herald interviewed the colombiano regarding his upcoming concert. See below.

Pee Wee is a Latin record label exec’s dream turned reality. Boy band past? Check. Awkward yet cute stage name? Check. Has young Latinas fawn over his looks? Check. Worked for a legend? Check. Former boy band members seldom make a seamless transition into adulthood much less into a successful solo career. Yet, Pee Weezy is poised get his Justin Timberlake on.

“The music is a mixture of the Latin world with a little bit of the electronic world,” he tells On the Up’s Christian Vera about his solo debut Yo Soy.

Vico C is one of the fathers of Spanish language urban music. Well, this father is back to discipline the masses (in a good way). His new album, Babilla, debuts on September 8th. In support of his new opus, Vico will conduct a video chat on his website tomorrow (8/26) from 7PM to 9PM ET. He’ll be chatting with his fans about his new album along with some exclusive news. If you’re a fan of Vico C and technology this is the chat for you. Don’t miss it mañana.

It seems like the boricua singer is planning on making a flick out of her Cuban travels. She was in Havana filming a video for Iranian/Swedish singer Arash Labaf’s “Kandi.” It’s funny how Lumidee, a marginally popular artist, films a video in Cuba with little to no controversy. While Juanes, a mega pop star, plans a concert for peace and he gets death threats. Check out the You Tube clip titled A Weekend in Cuba and peep the random cameos by Robert Duvall and Bill Murray. PS: The little cubanita at the 2:38 mark is adorable.

Oh Yanez! We got nothing but love for the Model Latina Miami contestant here at Sí TV. Pero, chica why did you help out Wisin y Yandel’s stepchildren? We were perusing You Tube and came across this doozy of a reggaeton video for Toon Race’s “Nena Linda.” The premise goes like this: two pre-teen looking reggaetoneros who work at a loading dock are mesmerized by Yanez’s beauty.
