WIR: Big Papi, Shaq, &...Esteban Ochocinco

Well, time for another edition of the Week in Review. Honestly, with the amount of inactivity in the sports world right now a more appropriate title might be the Weak in Review. Preseason football (blaaah), a couple interesting races in baseball but nothing special (at least the Mets-being-the-sports-equivalent-of-the-Titanic has been fascinating/sad), and the NBA seems further away than my next Fourth of July BBQ. Hey, things might be slow, but they never stop, which means enough bemoaning about the-end of-summer-drought and time to check out the juiciest storylines in the sports world.

Speaking of that 2003 PED, apparently that wasn’t for public consumption (says a U.S. appeals court about a year and a half too late). Sorry A-Rod, Ortiz, Manny…

In non-Latino news: Shaq will park his Ford F-150 wherever he wants...or not.

Sergio Garcia has the lead at the Barclays. Can he hold it? Probably not.

USC fans, meet your new starting quarterback (aka the heir to Mark Sanchez).

And finally, can we please drop the “honorary” tag and just make Esteban Ochocinco a card-carrying Latino. Please!

Quote of the Week: "You saw his eyes get big, and he was jumping around in the pocket. We gave him a lot of looks and disguises, and we confused him a little bit" - Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis describing Mark "Latin-hoff" Sanchez following the Baltimore vs. New York Monday night preseason game.
