GIL CEDILLO
California State Senator, 22nd District

Gilbert Cedillo grew up in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles and graduated from UCLA in 1977. He worked as general manager for L.A. County’s employees’ union, championing worker’s rights, prohibiting the dismantling of the L.A. County public health system, protecting libraries and youth programs, and saving more than 25,000 local jobs. He was elected State Senator in 2002 and is committed to protecting the rights of the working class, increasing and expanding access to health care, helping immigrants assimilate in California's social and economic fabric, and combating homelessness. He recently reintroduced a highway safety measure that would create a separate driving-only license for undocumented workers who are ineligible to legalize their status.
