POSTED Monday, June 29, 2009 at 11:44 PM The BK MC is rapping in Spanish now? Yes! At least for 1:42 minutes on his new album The Ecstatic on a track named “No Hay Nada Mas.” It’s a mellow track with Mos Def rhyming efficiently in Español. I actually heard about via Talib Kweli's Twitter account where he tweeted, “RealTalibKweli My new favorite song- Mos Def No Hay Nada Mas http://bit.ly/YObPy.” Mos does a better job than most (ha!) with his Spanish lyrics. Peep the song below.

I’m talking about Michael DeLorenzo from New York Undercover, one of my personal favorite shows and presently syndicated on Sí TV. Yes, this will be my last Michael Jackson-inspired post (for awhile) but in honor of MJ’s passing check out DeLorenzo in the music video for “Beat It.” I was a baby in the ‘80s so I’m a little confused about the era’s gang culture. The entire world of music lovers are walking around with heavy hearts today. Jackson was the biggest star of my generation…our Frank Sinatra, our Elvis, our Beatles. Now he’s gone. His life is remembered in Latin America by presidents (Hugo Chavez) and also regular citizens. For example look at the artists performing at MySpace Latino & Remezcla.com’s En Tu Ciudad Tour—Very Be Careful, La Santa Cecilia (pictured above), Wait.Think.Fast., and Mucho DJs. Coño, their names alone are eclectic. Wait until you see them perform at Downtown L.A.’s La Cita Bar next week (7/1). Go here for more info. POSTED Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:48 PM I told y’all the ladies of Model Latina Miami mean business. Emeraude, one of the finest contestants, scored a lead role in Marcy Place’s “Dame Un Chance (Nena)” music video. Marcy Place is a bachata trio who actually don’t spend five hours trimming their eyebrows. Crazy right? Anyway, Emeraude looks ravishing in this clip and she didn’t even have to wear booty shorts! Here’s the thing, as much as music critics (including myself) say their songs suck, you have to give it up to will.i.am. He’s got beats! But when you’re making money hand over fist in a recession, do criticisms still get under your skin? Let Perez Hilton talk his s**t, y’all know it doesn’t affect your record sales. With that said, check out my second part of my Taboo interview below. Read More
