POSTED Monday, July 13, 2009 at 1:11 AM Before Shakira, coño even before Selena, Lisa Lisa was the premier Latina pop singer. As a child I used to listen to her songs (“Can You Feel The Beat”) thanks in part to my older sisters’ vinyl collection. While the days of Lisa Lisa rocking door knockers are a distant memory, she’s still performing for her fans—you can call it a cult following…ha! I sat down with the boricua legend and discussed her new album Life ‘n Love, her crazy fans, freestyle music and why Oprah beats Cristina. POSTED Friday, July 10, 2009 at 1:28 AM A few years ago, Calle 13 were opening for acts at the LAMC. POSTED Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 11:06 PM Not really, but wouldn’t that be great to see? Imagine one of Sí TV’s beautiful Model Latinas messing up Xtreme’s make-up and snuffing them the fudge out. I’d buy a ticket. The below video for “Hiliana” from the bachata metrosexuals (I think, not that there’s anything wrong with that) is a couple of years old and features Christine, from Model Latina Miami, as a woman scorned.
