Tags: POSTED Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 1:00 AM Oh, Xtreme why are you so ripe for humorous commentary? Is it because you schedule weekly sessions at your favorite NYC-based eyebrow threading salon? Perhaps. Is it because the girls in your videos could easily man-handle you? Getting warmer. AHA! I got it. It’s definitely because one of your members looks like former WNBA athlete Teresa Weatherspoon. The resemblance between Weatherspoon and Steven Tejada is uncanny. Are you happy now, Kenny? I know you are.
Tags: POSTED Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 1:14 AM With Christina Milian’s recent engagement to singer/songwriter The Dream, I started thinking about C. Mill’s ex (Nick Cannon) and his wife Mariah Carey. Who’s getting the better deal? How long can Dream’s talent overshadow his paltry looks? Will Milian ever drop a Mariah Carey-level album? How does Nick Cannon land all these dimes? Let’s see the tale of the tape: The Dream/Christina Milian vs. Nick Cannon/Mariah Carey.
Tags: POSTED Monday, July 20, 2009 at 12:02 AM It’s pretty sweet to see a Latino athlete have his/her own shoe line. It’s even sweeter when it’s not a pro from baseball, soccer or any other sport Latinos dominate. Well, Paul Rodriguez aka P-Rod has his third shoe, Nike SB, dropping soon. In promotion of said shoe (hey, this is a music blog) he produced a commercial named “Today Was a Good Day,” an homage to the Ice Cube classic single. Read More
Tags: POSTED Friday, July 17, 2009 at 12:52 AM I’m dedicating this post to my Colombian hermanos and hermanas. It’s Colombia’s Independence Day on July 20th and here in NYC the Colombian Independence Day Festival hits Queens this Sunday (7/19). Aside from being the lucky hubby of a gorgeous colombiana, I’m also a Juanes fanatic. Recently, Juanes started a Twitter account and I, of course, starting following him. Below are couple of things I learned so far about the Colombian pop rocker. Christine from Model Latina Miami is working harder than my pops when he immigrated from Ecuador to NYC. The Puerto Rock beauty is the lead model in “Lose Your Mind,” the new music video by producer Jet Audio featuring Kid Daytona. Jet’s production is smooth, futuristic and funky while Daytona’s rhymes are decent. Christine takes care of the visuals with her stunning looks and her seductive walk. PS: It’s a classy rap video starring a classy chica. Read More I’m a proud Joell Ortiz supporter. So when his Slaughterhouse (the rap group comprised of JO, Joe Budden, Crooked I and Royce Da 5’9”) debut drops on August 11th, I’ll actually buy the compact disc…f**k a digital download. Ortiz shared his thoughts on being a Latino MC with me a few weeks back. With all the contributions nuestra gente have given hip-hop culture, it’s a damn shame that we still have to justify ourselves when we’re on the mic. |
