Juanes, "I am not a communist"

Since announcing his second “Peace without Borders” concert, which will take place in Cuba on 9/20, Juanes is getting attacked as if someone caught him on To Catch a Predator. All he wants to do is bring his award-winning and thought provoking music to an island stripped of many basic needs. The Miami Herald interviewed the colombiano regarding his upcoming concert. See below.

“Nobody called us, nobody invited us to Havana,'' Juanes told The Herald. “I am not a communist. I am not aligned with the government. I'm not going to Cuba to play for the Cuban regime.”

“Our only message is one of peace, of humanitarianism, of tolerance, a message of interacting with the people,'' he continued.

For this concert not to occur due to personal agendas would be a damn shame. Let’s hope cooler heads prevail.
