It's in Your CardsPOSTED August, 17 2009 ![]() Last night my friends and I went to a Mad Men party at a friend’s house to grab a drink and catch up with people...and to meet guys. And apparently every other woman invited to the party came for the same reason. Out of about 30 people, only 5 of them were men. So you can imagine that the only ladies who actually left with guys, were the ones who arrived with them (yeah, of the 5 guys, only 3 were actually single). But it was still a great place to meet new friends and have a good talk about men (which is exactly what women do when there aren’t men around). The story that caught my attention was from a girl who had a very positive experience with a psychic. “Jenny” knew me for all of 2 minutes when she said that she would be meeting the man of her dreams soon because it was in her cards. She then proceeded to tell me that she moved from New York City a few months ago to get a fresh start, away from the guy she dated there. Upon arrival in Los Angeles, she heard about a great fortune teller at a place called The Psychic Eye in Sherman Oaks. After making the drive over the hill, she left the place knowing that her man would soon appear—tall, dark, and handsome and living a bi-coastal life. Just to be sure, she even went as far as to confirm this fortune with another psychic who also said that Mr. Wonderful would soon appear. Same description and all. Now I know what you’re thinking—EVERY fortune is just some roundabout story that can fit into anyone’s life if you connect the pieces. Like a horoscope. Right? The thing is, Jenny not only believes her fortune will come true, but she’s excited about it. And that’s why I think I might go and get my fortune read. I don’t care if they feed me some B.S. that could fit into anyone’s life. I just want to be excited for my potential relationship. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to have some faith that you’ll meet the person you’re meant to be with. In fact, I’m sure the minute you believe you’re going to meet that special someone, you will. It’s like manifesting your destiny. Believe it and it will come. So whether a psychic says it or not, I think we should all start believing that we’re about to meet “the one”. You can only imagine how much more open-minded that makes you when you meet a guy because you’ll be thinking, “maybe it’s him” (just be careful not to freak the dude out). ;)
